You will need a marriage license from the State of Hawaii before your wedding ceremony takes place. It’s a simple and easy process to get the license, though it requires:
• Both parties to apply (together) in person at the State Department of Health • Both parties to be at least 18 years old • Photo identification (driver’s license, passport) • Payment of a $60 license fee in cash only
There is no waiting period, no blood test, and the license is good for thirty days. The process usually takes between 30 and 45 minutes.
Licenses may be obtained at: State Department of Health Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. |

You can get complete details and download the marriage license application at the Hawaii Department of Health website at:
http://www.hawaii.gov/health/vital-records/vital-records/marriage/index.html
Field Agents are available for couples arriving on the weekends and are to be married the same weekend. We will assist you with this, if needed.
On your application you may be asked who will be performing your wedding. Please write in: Rev. Robert Bright, who is a licensed minister in the State of Hawaii. (Lic. No. #95-306)
And once you’ve obtained your marriage license, please don’t forget to bring it with you on your wedding day! |
